Greg’s Manufacturing Limited (GML) is a family-owned company with a rich history in craftsmanship, innovation, and precision manufacturing. Established in 1934 by Fred Petryk in Cranberry Portage, Manitoba, GML has grown from a small sawmill into a trusted provider of specialized wood products for the mining, drilling, and construction industries. Now led by the third generation, the company continues to uphold its reputation for quality and reliability.
From Sawmill to Industry Leader
Fred Petryk founded the business with a vision of providing high-quality lumber. Initially, logging was done manually, but as demand increased, mechanization improved efficiency. Over the years, Fred’s dedication to craftsmanship, innovation, and integrity helped establish the company as a key regional supplier.
Following Fred’s passing, the business became Petryk Forest Products, with leadership transitioning to his wife Anne and their sons, Michael and Rick. The company modernized operations, expanded its client base, and supplied wood for residential, industrial, and mining applications. At its peak, it employed up to 30 workers, contributing significantly to the local economy.
